On January 28, 2014 the Maryland General Assembly issued a resolution recognizing Darryl A. Hill for “Changing the Culture of Athletics.” Mr. Hill was applauded for integrating college athletics in 1963 while playing football for the University of Maryland. The University of Maryland, which was represented by its President, Wallace Loh and Athletic Director, Kevin Anderson, was also cited for the key role it played in bringing down the walls of segregation in college sports.

The Maryland Assembly led by Senate President, Mike Miller (pictured above with Mr. Hill) and Speaker of the House, Michael Busch, also recognized Darryl Hill’s current efforts to help kids be more active and involved in sports. His foundation, KIDS PLAY USA, works to make organized youth sports affordable and available to all our children.
